Access the Bar

Disabled people deserve equal access to society.

The law mandates this. When these laws are not followed, or when they are ineffective at preventing discrimination as they currently stand, action is needed. The most effective way to effectuate such action – is to work with, or become, a lawyer.

If disabled people are inhibited from becoming lawyers, they are effectively inhibited from advocating for and effectuating change in other policies that have a discriminatory effect. If disabled people are inhibited from becoming lawyers, the quality of representation and likelihood of effectuating such change reduces substantially.

Whether it be legislation, regulation, or litigation – action is needed.

Barriers inhibiting disabled people from becoming lawyers must be stopped.
